Doug Collins at KFXM

Doug Collins Today
Doug Collins was born in South Gate and raised in San Bernardino. Like a few other KFXM alumni members, he listened to KFXM while growing up.
Although drafted in 1967, high arches were discovered at his induction physical. He spent two years at San Bernardino Valley College.
After stints at KRNO/San Bernardino, KWTC in Barstow, KGEC and KDES/Palm Springs and KYMS in Orange County, Doug joined KFXM in February of 1969 and contributed a lot to the legacy dyring his six years as DJ and program director.
Doug departed KFXM to do mornings at K/men. “I never worked full time in radio after K/men. I did voice work (Super Shops) and radio/tv production, advertising & PR for National Orange Show, Medical (Tel Med) and legal (Tel Law) informational recordings.
“My current hobbies are travel, computers and working out.
“Favorite songs of mine are recognizable to most DJs of that time -- MacArthur Park by Richard Harris and the full version of Light My Fire by The Doors. Both have something others do not, they provide ample time for a leisurely bathroom break!”
